PRINCE GEORGE – Ground-breaking has taken place for the Delta Prince George Hotel! Scheduled to open in 2015, the Delta Prince George, the result of an investment totalling more than $35 million, will be the first four-star hotel to be constructed in the City of Prince George.

“It is important to see companies choose to invest in our community. The new hotel will add capacity and create jobs,” said Shirley Bond, Minister of Jobs, Tourism, and Skills Training and MLA for Prince George-Valemount. “Visitors to Prince George will soon have an additional choice and we congratulate all those people who worked so hard to ensure this project moved forward.”

“With many investment projects occurring, and future events planned for Prince George, the Delta Prince George Hotel ground-breaking has taken place at a significant time,” said Mike Morris, MLA for Prince George-Mackenzie. “Right in the heart of downtown, the Delta Prince George will let travellers experience Prince George’s dynamic and spirited community, including delicious cuisine at a variety of restaurants, specialty stores and shops, and unique sights like Two Rivers Gallery, and Connaught Hill Park.”

Delta Prince George is owned and being developed by River City Hotel Management Corporation, and will be managed by Delta Hotels and Resorts. Over 15 months of construction, there will be an average of 120 construction jobs. Once complete, the Delta Prince George will provide more than 100 jobs for Prince George.

The Delta Prince George will provide luxurious comfort and state-of-the-art amenities for travellers, including restaurant and lounge, fitness centre with an indoor pool. Equipped with modern technology features, the Delta Prince George will also include a business centre and more than 7,000 square feet of meeting and conference space including a 4,000 square foot ballroom.
