PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George MLAs Shirley Bond and Mike Morris congratulate B.C. Community Achievement recipient Thomas Dielissen.
Dielissen has served in several capacities throughout the community, including on the City of Prince George Winter City Committee, as director of the Prince George Performing Arts Centre, director of the UNBC Timberwolves Athletic Association, as director and president with Theatre North West and as chair of the Theatre North West Wine Festival. He has also served with the St. John’s Ambulance Society, on the Exploration Place Museum and Science Centre board.
He has served with the Fraser-Fort George Regional Museum Society since 1995.
“We have many incredible people who devote lots of time and expertise to serve our community and Tom Dielissen is one of those people,” Prince George-Valemount MLA Shirley Bond said. “It is great to see Tom recognized with this very significant provincial award. Congratulations and thank you for making a difference in our community.”
“We are lucky to have people like Mr. Dielissen who give their time, energy and knowledge to make our community a better place,” Prince George-Mackenzie MLA Mike Morris said. “Thank you, Mr. Dielissen for all that you do.”
Community Achievement 2016 recipients will be honoured at a formal ceremony at Government House in Victoria on May 25.
The British Columbia Achievement Foundation, established and endowed by the B.C. government, celebrates excellence in community service, the arts, humanities and enterprise.
The B.C. Community Achievement Awards started in 2003 and were the foundation’s first initiative.
